Melissa de Jongh Physiotherapist (BHSc, PGDip) Director
I am a passionate and dedicated Physio. I have a Bachelor of Health Science, Physiotherapy (2005) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Western Acupuncture. I have spent most of my career in private practices in both NZ and Australia with a strong focus on Musculo-skeletal pain and injury. When I started out, I was a competitive netballer and thought that sports physio was where my future would lie. I have come to realise, though that there is a void for support of other groups just as important. I have completed a range of post-grad courses in injury management, womens health, acupuncture and health of the older adult and am always on the hunt for new learning opportunities. I am trained in clinical Pilates of which I am a huge advocate of as it helped me to manage injuries and also to rehabilitate in the antenatal and postnatal stages with both my pregnancies. My husband Simon and I have two beautiful young children, Peyton and Aidan and they help us to keep life in perspective!
Simon de Jongh Personal Trainer & Massage Therapist Director
Simon is Melissa's husband and has over 10 years experience in the health and fitness industry. Melissa and Simon owned and operated a practice in Howick, Auckland before moving back to Franklin area where Simon worked in gyms as Personal Trainer & Fitness Instructor early in his career. Simon also then trained in Reformer Pilates and Therapeutic & Sports Massage and worked closely alongside the Physios. As a result, he knows the importance of ensuring injury prevention and pelvic floor health for post-natal mums' and has loads of experience with exercise and the older adult. After becoming parents themselves both Mel and Simon realised the challenges of maintaining your own health and well-being as busy working parents of young children. His approach to Pilates and Training is measured whilst not letting you get away with anything and his sense of humour helps you to get through your session with a smile on your face. Simon is REPS (Registered Exercise Professional NZ) and also trained in Therapeutic and Sports Massage.
Katie Farrell Physiotherapist (BHSc, PGCert)
My fascination with the human body and how it works is what compelled me to pursue a career as a physio. I have experience treating a wide variety of conditions, from sports injuries to back and neck injuries, and post-surgical rehab. My qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy, and a post- graduate certificate in Western acupuncture. With 4 children of my own, I really understand the strain on the body being a mum, as am keen to use my experience and knowledge to help other parents adjust and prepare their bodies to fulfill their lifestyles. In my spare time I love spending time with my family outdoors- walking, cycling, wake boarding and enjoying the beach.
Chelsie Charleston Rehab Trainer Practice Admin & Customer Service
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation, Majoring in Nutrition and Exercise Science and I am passionate about using my skills and knowledge to help the people in our beautiful community live happier, healthier lives. My interest in women's health began many years ago when I began using nutrition and exercise to help manage my own women's health issues and was able to see first-hand how effective these influences were. I am extremely excited to be able to help women and families in Pukekohe, an area so close to my heart as it is where I grew up! 💙 Chelsie 😀

I’ve always had an interest in health and wellbeing and always was active, whether that be doing martial arts, dancing, gymnastics or even aqua aerobics! Though I still dabble in those activities, I didn’t realise how truly important our health and wellbeing is until I became a mother. Our wellness really does matter and I look forward to helping you through your journey at Parents Health Haven!
